- COFISA assists co-operative financial institutions and other types of co-operatives in the following areas:
- Assist interested groups that want to form all kinds of co-operatives;
- Assist existing co-operatives to be efficient, self-sustainable and be able to provide good services to their members;
- Build capacity of co-operative leadership by training them on co-operative governance, good leadership skills, financial literacy and co-operative management;
- Assist co-operatives to build a safe and sound environment for their members by establishing good internal controls, good policies and procedures;
- Provide a mentorship programme to all management and staff of co-operatives;
- Assists co-operatives to identify and access available Government incentive schemes;
- Assist co-operatives that need to develop into co-operative banks draw constitutions for them, business plans and policies and train their boards and management;
- Assist all types of co-operatives with the development of strategic plans;
- Assist financial co-operatives with the development of marketing plans and marketing strategies;
- Assist financial co-operatives with the turnaround strategies and rehabilitation in order to be profitable and sustainable;
- Provide training to co-operatives.
